Backs in my basketball days, when I stepped on that La Clery court with the bros, Marcellus Stiede, Loyol Daniel, and Travor Parish were my MJ in the flesh. But in my travels to St. Lucia, I have witnessed him living with the same humbleness and positive disposition he always had while mingling with his fellow Lucians, especially his friends, old and new, the haves and the have-nots. His dedication to building back through sports, and me knowing what sports can do for a person, community, and a people, I have no doubt that this brother will do for the youth, veterans, and elders what is needed to become a society in harmony and consequently sculpt the blueprint for progressive politics so we can eradicate the circus of insults, disrespect, blackmail, and violence surrounding the political arena. Let’s get back to what politics really stand for: the people. Marcellus Stiede is for the people. Blessings to all.
